I Feel Pretty, Oh So Pretty
Barbara Jozwiak did my hair and makeup and wow, did I feel gorgeous! I basically want to be like her when I grow up (even though she's younger than me :)). While she did my makeup, we talked makeup and macros. I loved my look, which transitioned well from fitness shoot to banquet (which is where I was headed after my shoot).
After some delays, I was able to make my way over to Apocalypse Strength to shoot with Gustavo. I brought a change of clothes to mix up the look and was ready to go. The girls scheduled before me were almost finished and I got a chance to see them and wowza! gorgeous. Not really helping my confidence. But then I just wiped that thought out of my mind. I think this little quote sums it up quite well.
It was go time. I had come in with a few ideas which Gustavo was receptive to. He also explained why one that I wanted to do (front plate raises) wouldn't work so well, so we modified to do holding a plate. I love some more than others, but I also know I'm pretty critical/objective about how I look. I was pressed for time because the Gorgo Banquet started while I was doing my shoot, but it kind of made me feel like a total fitness model...my job was to go there, get some fitpics and go on to my next appointment. That fitness model feeling carried over to the next day too! It was awesome. I swapped out my pinkish lipstick for a red by Hourglass (one of my favorites) and rocked a LBD to the banquet, where I had a blast.
Between the positive comments from posing and the fit model feeling, I felt empowered and awesome. But most importantly to me, in spite of where my journey has taken me, I appreciated my strengths and that, is a total game changer.
