I found our about The Dukan Diet from a friend in Brazil. I had been contemplating doing a Ketogenic diet and Dukan seemed like it would be pretty similar. After some research, I decided to give it a go. There are four phases in the diet: attack, cruise, consolidation, and stabilization.
In the attack phase, you can eat an unlimited amount of lean proteins along with 1.5 tablespoons of oat bran. Drinking lots of water is also a requirement---and one I have trouble with, but I'm trying.
What kept me going through the three days was a saying I kept repeating to myself:
I can do anything for just three days!
And I did it!! I successfully completed the short, but effective Attack Phase!
So how did I do in those three days?
- 4.6 pounds
- 1.5" from my waist
- 2" from hips
- 3" total from my thighs
So what's next?
I start the cruise phase where I alternate between pure protein and protein/vegetables days. Today is a protein & veggie day and I'm going to have veggies every chance I get!! This is the longest phase (estimated at 60 days) so we'll see how it goes. I usually abandon ship after 21-30 days at most. However, I think keeping the focus on the alternating days will be beneficial for me.
My motivation is high and I loved the results from Attack so I'm ready to Cruise!
