So this Sunday is the Super Bowl...it really should be a holiday. Super Bowl parties are as big as Christmas parties. They're known for their gluttony and good food.
The fact of the matter is, I need to prepare and I need to be realistic. What does that look like for me? I think I'll be eating light, protein packed foods on Saturday and Sunday leading up to the party (think egg whites, chicken with salad, etc). I've planned for Sunday to be my intermittent fasting day, which I think should help. But listen, I know no matter how well I've planned, I'm going to see some buffalo chicken dip and want a bite. And I'm not the type of person (yet) that can say no. The food will keep staring at me, beckoning me with its deliciousness. So what am I going to do? I'm making a deal with myself. It's okay for me to have a bite or two of the foods, to experience them. But I'm also going to bring some foods that will help. Spinach salad with a balsamic glaze, anyone? I also just saw some bacon and pineapple appetizers. That's an option too. But I think I want to keep it as green as possible (plus, the sodium from the bacon is no bueno pre-weigh in). At the end of the day, I want to enjoy myself but not go crazy, because that means I'm just going to have to work harder to work off that Sinday. And I'm tired of working harder and not seeing the progress I would have seen if I had just stayed on point.
Follow my Super Bowl Sinday updates on Facebook at www.facebook.com/wannabeawesomeme where I'll share what I'm making and eating. Let me know what your plans are and if you're thinking about the Super Bowl party as I am. I'm on the Twitter too and the Instagram (I love social media): @emily1852.
Happy Super Bowl Sunday...enjoy the party, the game, and above all else, enjoy yourself.
