I'm behind on recapping my 5k Foamfest experience. But it was great!! It was held at the Wicomico Motor Sports Park in Charlotte Hall, MD. There was also a moto-cross race there that day, so I was nervous that I'd get stuck in traffic. I made sure I got there in plenty of time. I did have the forethought to check how to pay for parking and made sure I had cash on hand! I also planned out my outfit. And that's where all of the advance planning stopped. Silly me, I was thinking it was going to be a bunch of foamy fun mess!
In reality, there was some foam, but it was a magnificent muddy mess. I totally understand how pigs feel. I don't know what tempwrature it was, but the muddy water felt great and the water station was a welcome relief.
It took me about 55 minutes to finish the course. That's a bit disappointing since I can run three miles in about 27 minutes, but I had fun and that was the primary thing (and there were like a gagillion obstacles. BTW, gagillion is the new 12. I'm using gagillion to describe a lot of things lately, like the miles (not) run). I decided I would totally do this race again next year. And while it doesn't look like I'll be doing the 5k Foamfest next year (four days after my race, they went bankrupt), I'll definitely look for a similar race...maybe the warrior dash or dirty girl race! The 5k Foamfest promised clean dirty fun and they definitely delivered! And BTW, my white shorts are now taupe.
